I want to start by getting the positives out of the way: Customer Service - Pricing Email responses were answered within hours (even minutes sometimes) and pricing seems to be very competitive. A few competitors have cheaper and stronger motors, but they do not usually include a digital display. So just to recap - I would 100% buy again (and will likely be buying another kit closer to spring) and if this review was solely based on Customer Service, it would definitely be a 5 out of 5! Now, for the negatives. The website has to be in its infancy. Not everything is listed the same in different products and the way some of the 'inclusions' are listed is confusing. For example, this item you have a choice of a Casette or Freewheel version, but the Freewheel is not included. Nowhere did it say Casette not included - which for me was confusing because I thought I would be getting a Cassette (which you dont). Having a more clear explanation that is standardized for each product would be a welcome expansion. The other issue that was a bit disapointing was the exclusion of any instructions at all. I get it - this is a DIY project - but my father and I are very handy and the ebike world has some good, some bad explanations on stuff. Now, it would not be fair of me to be fully critical of not including instructions as when I did reach out via email they were very helpful to explain what I needed to do. Finally, the last thing I wish was a bit cleared is what PAS and brake parts are required. I assumed the default options were univeral, but my bike has brake/shifter combos and does not have a ring on the crank area - so both default parts are not compatible with my bike. I couldnt find any really good information on PAS or the brake systems anywhere - including competitors - so a better FAQ breakdown would be appreciated. All in all - I would definitely recomend AffordableEbike over the competion. Now that i have partially completed my first ebike, I feel like the next one(s) will be easier and I will know what kits to buy.
